United Australian Lebanese Movement marches with Pride on Australia Day.

Melbourne 26/01/17: In an annual tradition marking Australia Day, the United Australian Lebanese Movement (UALM) Vic branch as once again marched with pride in the Australia Day March held in Melbourne Australia.

Participants wore colourful costumes as well as a t-shirt printing with the words “I AM” and the flags of Australia and Lebanon.

Members of the UALM and the wider Australian Lebanese community joined over 170 other communities groups in Marching down Swanston Street in the presence of tens of thousands of spectators in celebration of Australia as well as to highlight the positive contributions that members of Australia’s Lebanese community have made to our great nation.

Event organizers, who had put together a marvellous celebration, were helped by the wonderfully mild Melbourne summer weather.

Lebanese immigrants have made Australia their home since the 1800’s and have contributed immensely in all fields including academia, business, sports and politics.
